The Project aimed to strengthen the capacity of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, Quang Ninh Department of Planning and Investment, etcetera, on institutional mechanism development and awareness raising necessary for promoting green growth in the Halong Bay area. The green growth project conducts pilot activities that contribute to reducing pollution load and economic growth by “breaking away from the dependence on the brown economy”.
The project also stimulates sustainable tourism sector growth by utilising natural resources in the Halong Bay area as a “transition to a green economy”. The green growth policy in Quang Ninh province aims at greening the brown economy and greening economic growth in the service sector.
