DATA COLLECTION SURVEY ON FORMULATING BASIC PLAN OF COMPREHENSIVE URBAN INUNDATION COUNTERMEASURES IN VINH CITY

This study is considered as the first step to find out solutions for the most-urgent inundation and wastewater treatment issues as well as to reveal a long-term vision for sustainable development of Vinh city. Furthermore, it would aim to provide a model case to apply further assistance to other medium-sized cities having similar issues and situations in Vietnam.

Finally, necessary analysis and evaluation were carried out by the Consultant based on the collected data, including basic analysis of existing drainage and wastewater systems as well as inundation risks and causes, categorized issues regarding wastewater treatment, examination of a basic plan for the comprehensive urban inundation countermeasures in Vinh City, proposal of necessary items to be examined in the subsequent stage.

The relevant information on the environmental and social considerations, project implementation procedures as well as competence and responsibilities of organizations were also collected and analyzed.
